My uncle hated new york 8D

Now he lives in Shanghai. It all depends on where you're happy.

Wouldn't you miss Japan if you moved to New York? I'd love to live in Japan! :D

...America is not really so special, lol.

Okay. My first response was... YAY! I MIGHT GET TO MEET HIM!

And then reality hits. WHAT THE HELL MATE?! NO MORE SAKURA PICTURES OR AWESOMENESS! AND YOU HAVE A KID! A KID!

Drop the silly idea this instant. =-= Tis ridiculous. New York isn't worth the piss in Japan. CEASE TO THINK ABOUT IT! After all, what would I do without my daily Japan fix from you? DDDD:

XD Japan...

I'm in Texas. it's hot here. since I'm used to it though, anywhere else is too cold for me. ESPECIALLY New York. the sun just never gets up high enough in the sky...

I'm not sure you'd like Texas though, being the second largest state in the country...you could photograph a lot within Texas, and it's a diverse state in and of itself, but you'd never get out of the state. all of Japan probably fits within Texas, and then some.
New York is not as bad...you're getting to the smaller states up there. New Hampshire, Vermont, DC, Rhode Island, Maryland, Connecticut...you're near Canada up there too.

it's strange but,the only cities i think i want to visit/live in US is San Francisco , Seattle or Boston sounds kinda cool too ;p

oooh, I hear Boston has a *REALLY HIGH* crime rate. maybe even the worst in the country. I wouldn't want to live there.

Seattle is an awesome city. if it weren't so far north, I'd definitely want to live there. I've visited it, and it's BEAUTIFUL, plus, a ton of cool people are there :D Portland, OR is another cool city.

San Fransisco is also awesome, but I liked Seattle more (weather aside).

...also, I'm not surprised with your response (Boston aside). also also, you wouldn't fit in in Texas. you might get a kick of how "fake" everyone here is if you came to visit...but you'd be like a fish out of water.

Ugh....New York vs. Japan on my experience? I'd LOVE to go to japan. I think it's a wonderful place, I've never been there, and I've been to NY manymany times. However, that's for vacation, and not really this "big move" type thing that you're probably looking at.

I think....

Just wherever life takes you. If that's NY, roll with it all the way and don't look back too often. If its not, Japan is a wonderful place to stay.

Wow that's an amazing picture...

Instead of moving to New York, you should move to the most wonderful place in Kansai, Nara. ;) I love it here, I wouldn't trade it for anywhere else in the world right now.

On a serious note though, moving to New York is a great opportunity, but from what I read you have family which makes a big difference. If you plan to return to Japan while your child(ren) is still in school, then they will have a lot of difficulty going back to the Japanese school system. As a teacher here, I have seen many students come back from living abroad, some have an easy transition, and for others it can be very difficult and make them feel like an "outsider."

I hope that it all works out for the best. :)

Hmmm that depends. Personally I don't think New York is a good place for families with kids - from what I saw there's no place for kids to play in front of their house (unless you live in a house in the suburbs). Loads of roads, cars, buildings and so little grass and trees around. NY is a great city to visit and live there when you're single or you don't have kids. But it's not my place... I don't feel the vibe. I'd rather live in a smaller city with parks and stuff. Japan seams like a nice place to live, but it's all up to you and the positive and negative sides of moving from Japan.

there's this thing about US that i don't like much. Here with 2 and a half hours i could be in the most beautiful places in Japan by car.Tokyo,Osaka,Kyoto,Nara anywhere really from where i live (of course). And there's NY that,it's a long road to get into the other states to photograph and see difference between them.also, the School here is so much better for my little girl,is healthy and safe from the annoying freaking fear of her becomes ... better i stop here.Since i see you are a very good person, there's still hope.;P
thank you for that!really!!!!

Ooh you know, I wasn't even thinking that far...yeah, stay over there, man, especially for little Aya-chan, it will be much better for her too. I mean I know all countries have their pros and cons...but you as a parent know the world of Japan much better than that of the USA, plus like you said the whole traveling for photography thing...it's just more convenient where you live now. Have hope!

Aww, I hope you're feeling more energetic later. You have an offer for New York?! :D Wow, that is really terrific! I am very happy for you. The only downside to New York is the cost of living is high, although still lower than Japan's major cities. I think it would be a wonderful opportunity for you and your family, although there would be many factors to consider. I'll be supportive whatever you decide to do. :D

:aww: Thank you for the big compliment. :iconcocoglompplz: You are very kind.

I am actually going to be taking photography classes starting this Fall at school and I will continue taking classes. My husband and I are saving up to get a camera next January. I really love to do crafts and writing. There's still a lot I haven't put up because of various reasons, but I'm getting to it. :) I hope to take pictures also to add to my list of things I like to do, that's why I don't have anything in my gallery. I also can't draw or paint at all. :giggle:

Honestly, Yoshi, you have been an inspiration to me. Your photography style is beautiful and I really love your subject matter. I can also feel the passion you have for photography and it makes me happy.

thank you, family comes first right now as you know,i am considering but,the school factor here grounds me.
the fact that the at least until 9 children have a better life and exercise along with the students.not so much internet, they teach how to cook in the school and everything you know.
i love how you see students all around and not only on the school time.

Yes, family is important, and that is why I'm changing jobs, but can't you have B and Aya-chan with you wherever you go?

And now I'm curious, are you a teacher, or student volunteer, and who are the 9 children? Sorry, so many questions but your comments intrigue me :)
