the first photo you've shot this year it's a good one, tells a lot about the place... you've managed to capture the rising sun's warm sunbeams I see that there is no snow in Japan, in Poland it's the opposite, everything is covered with it, a lot falling now...
the town you are in, seems so still and quiet, like it was only just waking up... no people on the streets... in fact, the train is the only sign here that this place is 'living' about Kanji, I guess that the billboards are advertising, the same everywhere I think
Oh, this is a lovely artwork. Like the sepia, like in old movies, interrupted by the red of the train. Wonderful. Reminds me of the hand coloured pictures they made back in the 19th century. You mentioned Toyota in the comments, so I suppose it's Toyota-City, if I'm not wrong (豊田市, visited the car factory there). Aichi prefecture, very nice corner of 日本。The cables are hung outside because so they can be fixed quicker after an earthquake, isn't it? So I have read somewhere.
I do miss 日本 and its cities. All the odd angles on the houses, the bewildering amount of cables, the smells, the sounds... the old little stores still remaining, tucked away on sidestreets or side to side with big depaato. Lovely photo.
