jizō statues are everywhere,so in case you see them a lot in the animes,they are what they are.
let me tell you what i know about them:


usually,they represent a young soul gone,maybe an abortion even.Accident with children/teenagers ( suicide is on the table too),something that they could pay their respect for the loving ones.
